About Us

We are a 77-year-old club and one of the most renowned and favorite organizations of Kolkata.

Since the past 37 years, we have been involved with various types of Social Activities for the betterment of society and the underprivileged.

Tridhara Utsav is a Mega event commemorating Swami Vivekananda’s birthday celebrations. It is a week-long prog in the month of January.

It hosts a Flower show, a Food Festival, & a Handicraft fair. Renowned food stalls of reputed restaurants of Kolkata tantalize the taste buds of all. Artisans from near and far display and sell their unique and exquisite handicrafts. Children’s corner provide added attraction. Different types of colorful flowers are exhibited.

As a bonus to our winter food festival, we have the Pithe Puli counters selling succulent sweets.

Over the years Tridhara Utsav has been pulling crowds from young to old in thousands.

In the evenings each day, we have a cultural program where all the renowned artists of Bengal perform On 23rd Jan, an All Bengal Sit & Draw Competition is organized where approx. 4000 children coming from English & Bengali Medium Schools, Mentally and Physically Challenged, Autistic, Hearing Impaired children, Thalassemia & Cancer child patients participate together.

On the 26th Jan, a Talent Hunt Competition of Song, Dance & Recitation for more than 2000 children is held.

The prize distribution ceremony is also held in a grand style.

Social Activities

Tridhara Akalbodhan has been involved in various types of Social Activities for the past 37 years, round the clock, serving the underprivileged section of the society.

FREE MEDICAL UNIT: Provides the service of Allopath treatment by a team of doctors of repute. Distributes free medicine among the poor and needy. Provides Pathological services of which some are at subsidized rates and some free, also provides Ambulance service for transporting patients who cannot afford the charges and Hearse Carriage Service for the dead.

EYE CAMPS, AND GENERAL MEDICAL CAMPS Several, Eye camps, and general Medical camps are set up for the benefit of the underprivileged people all through the year.

MEDICAL AWARENESS CAMPS: Awareness camps campaigning about AIDS, HIV, Malaria, Dengue, Cancer, and Thalassemia among the masses involving several NGO’s and reputed Oncologists, Hematologists and other specialist doctors of Kolkata.

DISTRIBUTION OF CLOTHINGS: Blankets, Saris, and Dhotis are distributed to the poor, aged and widowed ladies of our local slums and garments for the children are given during the various festivities.

PLANTING TREES: Trees are planted in and around our locality Promoting Green among the general mass and creating awareness about healthy living.

SIT AND DRAW COMPETITION: Each year a sit and draw competition is organized involving children from the Bengali medium Corporation schools, English medium school students, and Mentally and Physically challenged special children. The basic motto behind the venture is to help each child to understand the other better, teach them to co-exist with love and compassion.

SPONSORING EDUCATION: We sponsor education to Three less privileged students from the Medical, Engineering, and Law faculties who due to financial reasons cannot continue their studies.

PORTABLE DEAD BODY CHILLING MACHINE: We have this machine where a dead body can be kept chilled without the expensive cost of embalming, for 72 hours.

COMPUTER TRAINING CENTRE: We have recently started a new venture of a computer training center for the underprivileged section of the society because it is an essential part of any work these days. This training would enable them to get work with good pay.

SUBSIDISED MEAL: West Bengal Govt provide a subsidized meal for the poor at Rs.5/- on all weekdays but on the Sundays and other holidays we provide the service from our club.
